YOGA EVENTS IN MYSORE


Karnataka State Amateur Yoga Association will conduct yogasana competitions on23rd and 24th June in Mysore at Sri Sri Sri Ganapathi Sachchidananda Ashrama, Avadhuta Datta Peetam, Nanjanagud Road Mysore.


Masterji will be in the competition in his capacity of President, Karnataka State Amateur Yoga Association. All are welcome to see the competitions.
The competitions will be held in different age groups for boy/men and girls/women separately.


The age-groups are --
a.   above 8 years and below 11 years
b.   above 11 years and below 14 years
c.   above24 years and below 17 years
d.   above 17 years and below 21 years
e.   above 21 years and below 25 years
f.   above 25 years and below 35 years
g.   above 35 years

Each competitor should perform ten asanas prescribed for his/her group.

There will be around 600 hundred competitors representing different schools, colleges and yoga centers of Karnataka.

Witnessing the competitions will provide huge amount of information to the yoga teachers and yoga students to improve their teaching and learning techniques.

Masterji is available for personal meetings and discussion during the competitions days.

On 23rd June at 10.30 AM Sri Sri Sri Ganapathi Sachchidananda will inaugurate the yogasana competitions.

Sri Sri Sri Datta Vijayananda Theertha Swamiji will be present during the inauguration.

Avadhuta Datta Peetam is an important center to visit for all who come to Mysore. There is a lot to know, study and experience in this center.

The winners in the competitions will receive the prizes on the evening of 24th June with the blessings of both the senior pontiff Sri Sri Sri Ganapathi Sachchidananda Ganapathi Sachchidananda and the junior pontiff Sri Sri Sri Datta Vijayananda Theertha Swamiji of Avadhuta Datta Peetam.

The classes are in MYSORE STYLE. 

Classes timings: (Monday thru Saturday).

I  batch:    06.00 AM to 07.20 AM              ASANA  
II  batch:   07.30 AM to 08.50 AM             ASANA  

Those who want to practice for a longer period can sign in for both the classes paying the required fees.

11.00 AM to 12.30 PM      PRANAYAMA  AND MANTRA (Monday thru Friday)
03.30 PM  onwards           FOR TEACHERS AND TEACHER TRAINEES (Monday thru Friday)
The class hours depends on the type of classes offered.

1.       Week-long regular classes from Monday thru Saturday.
2.       Day routine ---
a). asana
  Primary series.
  Intermediate series
  General asanas for those who cannot do ashtanga/vinyasa style.

b) Pranayama
c) Chanting mantras
d) Yoga philosophy.
e) Techniques of adjustments.

3.      Teacher Certification:
a)    200 hours
b)    500 hours
c)    Short duration (less than 200 hours)










The students will have ample of time and opportunity to meet and discuss with Master ji on yoga theory and practice.

The classes are optional and there is no compulsion to attend all of the classes.
You will have plenty of opportunity to talk with Master ji and discuss with him.
Training programs and classes are flexible and you can come and join the courses according to your convenience.

Master ji makes a lot of correction and adjustments while you practice asana. NO ONE WILL BE PUSHED BEYOND HIS/HER LIMITS. NO ONE WILL BE FORCED TO DO WHAT HE/SHE IS NOT READY FOR although all students will be supported and advised to penetrate deep into their asana and gradually move beyond their limitations.

The students must submit a recent passport size photo and copy of relevant passport pages upon beginning any classes.

For all the courses, you need to secure your own housing and food arrangement.

Before you arrive--Have a valid visa to be in India.
